If Spotify was really serious about supporting emerging music artist, they'd already created a tip-jar finance product in partnership with PayPalVenmo.
Fans could and would "tip" they're favorite emerging voices, voting with their dollars. It'd give the artists the chance to foster a direct-to-consumer relationship. And Spotify would have front row seat into seeing who will be the new superstars of tomorrow AND have a new product to brag about to Wall Street/PR/customers.
I wonder why that hasn't happened yet. My guess would simply be, "the labels." #LOL
